My name is Cherie Rene. I've been an entrepreneur since I designed a Chocolate Survival Box for my mom in 1992. I created a concept, designed a label, and boom... my love for all things creative and small business was born. Along the way, I've come up with multiple business ideas. Some of these have been perfected and are available here under the hobu & co banner.

hobu is the nickname my husband and I have for each other. Married since 1991, we wanted to have a cutesy word that was unique to us. We came up with honey bunny and shortened that to hobu... pronounced hah-boo. And when I needed a brand to encompass all the other ideas I have floating around, hobu was the first and only choice.

hobu bath & body - Small-batch skincare made with luxurious, skin-loving ingredients. With a specially designed line of scents - all products have no added gluten or soy (due to my own allergies) and are free from parabens, dyes, phthalates, and silicones. Everything you need from head to toe skin and body care. And yes, that includes hair! ps. Check out my Organic Body Oils. Fast absorbing, non-greasy, and leave you smelling FAB. Plus, they're great in thick, unruly, dry hair.

We were blessed to be able to move to Kauai where we stayed for 3 amazing, glorious, unforgettable years. Our time there sparked my line of Kauai inspired perfumes...Saline. Salt water spray + notes of the island of Kauai come together to create a line that is beautiful and seductive.

My favorite cousin (hey, Caleb!) inspired this line of products for the modern day man.. Manlē (pronounced manly). Available in a variety of scents that echo the decade for which they were named (1920, 1950, etc), each Manlē product is produced with the finest that our perfectly created planet has to offer. Beard balms, shaving soap, solid cologne, beard oil, body wash, and lotion. Plus, I'm offering made-in-America badger shaving brushes. be Bold. be Courageous. be Manly.

My grandparents lived between Peabody and Vine streets and that gave me the inspiration to create the peabody + vine brand: exquisite, curated home scenting. peabody + vine offers products like wickless coconut candles (SOY FREE!), coconut wax melts, willow reed diffusers, room sprays, and more, all with a Norwegian twist bringing the scents and beauty of Norway into each item. Scent is very important to me. It drives my memories, alters my moods, and can help diffuse times of anxiety or panic. To help make sure scent is always with me, I’ve created Carmist - scents of home on the go. With specially curated fragrances, your car can become an extension of your home. And smelling fabulous as expected.

In early 2019, my husband and I brought home a MalshiJack (maltese + shihtzu + jack russell terrier) who we promptly named Mr Steve Chew. Mr Steve is the inspiration behind Mr Chew’s A-paw-thecary - scented dog sprays, shampoos, and balms for your furry companion. Available in a variety of custom blended scents, your dog will smell like a winner.. even when a bath is sorely needed.

Glutenada. Gluten-free mixes that taste SO good, you’ll swear you’re eating “normal” baked goods. These are top 8 allergy free and some are available sweetened with coconut sugar. Hot cocoa mix made with oat milk and sweetened with coconut sugar? Yes please!

Indie Coupons. I’m very excited to be launching this in summer/fall of 2023. My little way to help other indie brands promote and market themselves to an otherwise unseen audience.

Dreaming of Marshmallows. I adore marshmallows. Their flavor, texture, and scent of powdery vanilla is like nothing else on earth. I also have several young nieces whom I adore and who love body and pillow sprays. Dreaming of Marshmallows will offer marshmallows blended with other sweets in a line of room sprays, body sprays, lotions, and sugar scrubs. Everything a little (or adult!) girl needs to feel special and sweet.
